One of my favorite combination of flavors is a simple one, Tangy cranberries with a bit of orange and honey.
By combining these flavors with sweet unsalted butter, and freezing the combination allows me to enjoy my favorite combination whenever I want.
This is one of my favorite gifts to give along with a batch of Scones.
But I've also been known to make a truly amazing frosting by blending it with confectioners sugar to top a tender orange cake.
I start from organic unsalted butter, then add organic Cranberries that are sweetened with apple juice instead of sugar, and finally, the orange peel is from an organic orange to avoid any pesticide residues.

Slightly sweet, but tangy too with citrus peel and cranberries, this Cranberry Orange compound butter is the perfect accompaniment for waffles, pancakes or even plain old toast.
